Vegas Rally & Rebuild

I've decided to attend the Vegas Rally in March, and I want to be able to take my scooter. So it looks like I will not have the cashy money to complete the engine and body restoration. I am going to try to complete the engine and do a couple things to the body. Then in April, take the scooter back apart and finish the restoration of the body.

I had asked about boring out the cylinder to the next oversize on the engine, it was suggested that I get the ASC 166 kit instead. After some thought, this sounds like a good idea. I will also get the modified exhaust from them. Hopefully this will give me a little more power.

I still need to get a clutch rebuild kit and a spring gear rebuild kit.

Over the last 2 months I got a rubber kit, grommet kit, hardware kit and an engine bearing kit from ASC. From ScootRS, I bought a 12 volt upgrade kit, new light switch, brake switch, headlight reflector, leather saddle seat, buddy seat, luggage tray, crash bar and spare tire holder/rear luggage rack.

I'm considering on getting the Clauss engine and rear suspension mounts.

Since I need the clutch, spring gear, and cylinder kits to finish the engine, there is not much I can do until I get my paycheck at the end of January.

I did finish disassembling the engine, removing the rear brake cam, clutch actuator and all the engine mounts. I also cleaned the engine cases, though there is still a little stubborn stray Italian mud in a few spots on the outside of the cases.

Over the fall, I have been collecting interesting looking auxiliary lights to mount on the crash bar. Most of these came from England via eBay auctions. I plan on cleaning them up and mounting 3 to 5 on the crashbar. Its not that I want a mod look for my scooter, but I like lights.
